1. 世界大學運動會（The Universiade）是一項國際體育與文化盛事，每兩年一次由不同城市舉辦。

The Universiade is an important international physical and cultural event, which is held once every two years by various cities.

2. 在比賽中，來自全球大學的學生運動員建立友誼，並學習運動家精神的真諦。

During the game, those student athletes derived from the whole globe establish their friendship and learn the truth of the spirit of athletes.

二、英文作文（占 2 0 分）

說明︰

2.文長至少120個單詞（words）。

提示：每個人從小到大都有覺得寂寞的時刻，也都各自有排解寂寞的經驗和方法。當你感到寂寞時，有什麼人、事或物可以陪伴你，為你排遣寂寞呢？請以此為主題，寫一篇英文作文，文長至少 120 個單詞。文分兩段，第一段說明你會因為什麼原因或在何種情境下感到寂寞，第二段描述某個人、事或物如何伴你度過寂寞時光。

It is when I need to talk to someone for the revelation of my personal life but fail to do it that I feel lonely. The fact shows that very often we need to have someone to talk to so that we may either exchange our views or simply engage in a simplistic conversation to enrich our life. But unfortunately, on many occasions, I need to talk to my parents when necessary; however, as a result of their hectic life in which they are busy doing business, they are often unable to talk to me, making me left alone and assailed by loneliness. Under such circumstances, provided having one of my best friends to chat with, I may very likely prevent myself from being stranded in this undesirable dilemma.

To deal effectively with my loneliness confronted, I will contemplate chatting with my closest friend called David as a solution to my problem faced, whose dialogue with me may help eradicate my loneliness. Let me enumerate some major reasons as to why talking to him may in effect help eliminate my loneliness perceived as undesirable and annoying to me. To begin with, he is the one equipped with sense of humor, along with his benevolent feature, that makes me acclaim him quite a lot. That is, whenever talking to him, our talking will be replete with lots of my laughter derived from his great sense of humor. More important is that our content of chatting can cover numerous things, which I think are instrumental to my personal knowledge and growth. Precisely on account of these two major reasons, loneliness will never pose a threat to me, in that I will always have David to turn to.
